The beautiful and well preserved School Camp San Jorge Muxbal, of the Scouts Association of Guatemala, was the place of the XX Scout Summit of Chairman and Chief Commissioners of Central America Subregion, between June 21 to June 23, 2013.
In this place met youth leaders and representatives of National Scout Organizations of Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Honduras and the host Guatemala, to review compliance with previous agreements, coordinate actions and exchange experiences and strategies for success, to help promote Scouting in their respective countries.
This important event also served to continue spreading the WOSM Global Project "Messengers of Peace" through a workshop facilitated by José Gabriel Criollo, Director of Institutional Development at the World Scout Bureau-Interamerican Region and Gerardo González, National Coordinator of MoP in Scouts of Guatemala. This event was attended by Dan Ownby, World Scout Committee Member, who presented a major project being developed in conjunction with USFIS and MoP, in which Boy Scouts of America will provide training in various areas of institutional strengthening and good practices for young leaders of NSO of the Central America Subregion in the United States over the next three years. This project aims to build upon these later generations formed to serve as multipliers of the experience and benefit of more leaders and have significant impact on the performance of their respective NSOs.
All activities of this summit took place in the best climate of brotherhood and camaraderie, aiming to coordinate and strengthen the actions of the NSOs participants to take firm steps on the path of growth of Scouting.
