simon Rhee
On the opening ceremony of International Scout Peace Camp, Simon Rhee, the Chairman of the World Scout Committee said that Indonesia should be proud with the largest scout membership status. Simon warmly greeted audience in a Indonesian familiar greeting “Assalamu’alaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh... selamat pagi... Good Morning... Salam Pramuka.. Aniyoung Haseo...”. The greetings was responded with big applauses from all participants which are different on culture and language to each other.
Simon was proud to be a part from 500 participants of ISPC who were coming from around the world. “welcome to everybody to be here who come from near, from far, by the plane, ship, train, car or other” said Simon. Simon considered that to know more of each other, understand to each other. To understand and respect differences could spread out the Messenger of Peace around the world.
International Scout Peace Camp is organized under Messenger of Peace (MoP) initiator. MoP initiated by King of Saudi Arabia and King of Sweden in 2011. Simon delivered his great appreciation to Gerakan Pramuka Indonesia as the host of ISPC and for great hospitality given to all participants. Simon expected to all participants could enjoy this peace camp and remember the message that contained in this event. Not only when they come to each country, but also in their whole live. Simon left a message to all agents of MoP to spread out love and peace to their close friend, family and every one that they know. Simon suggested to all audience to share, to disperse and to adapt their program on peace that they could do it via social media or through their link in scouting.
Simon closed his speech at the opening ceremony by saying “Scouting spreads candle light that would not fade away as long as you live, Satu Pramuka Untuk Satu Indonesia, Tepuk pramuka!” and the rumble of scouting applauded sounds rocking the field. (BS)
